Happy Election Day!
Here is a message from Deepak Chopra to calm any anxiety you may be feeling:
For those still here, especially my paid subscribers, I want to say THANK YOU. An overdue apology for disappearing, but I promise you it’s because I was working on my little piece of making our American electorate more informed.
In my real life, I am a multimedia producer. The media I had the pleasure of focusing on since I last posted was a film focused on shining a light on the Latino Vote. I was part of an incredible team that put together a film I’m really proud to share.
Directed by Bernardo Ruiz & Quiet Pictures.
Brought to the finish line (Coordinating Producer) by yours truly. Trailer below:
The film came out a few weeks ago and reception has been great.
In addition to the broadcast film - which today might be a great day to watch, no? - I was also the coordinating producer for the a variety of digital shorts that focus on individual stories and breaking down our community all across the country:
An Auto Shop in North Philly becomes a political playground
An Afro-Latina voter reflects on what it means to be a Latina this election
A first time voter’s complicated vote for Trump
I’m so proud to have been able to spend some time working on these. Working on projects centered around our democracy is where I want to be spending my time.
Which brings me back to American Sueño. A project that I put on the back burn for a bit, but a place that no matter which way the election goes, I look forward to showcasing what the new American Dream looks like.
The great experiment of these United States continues!
